Have decided to get a lift for the casa de everclear. There are a couple of local suppliers of solid items that you know would last a lifetime but also come with that price tag. I am not going to be pulling engines or subjecting a bike on a lift to significant force. The purpose is is to have the bike at a convenient height to remove fairings/parts for repair/replacement whilst the bike sits securely. So these are a couple of Chinese manufactured options I am considering. Has anyone got one, /something similar/seen one in the flesh and what do you think? Mine’s on its hoist right now. Rear of the bike on a paddock stand and the front hooked up to the ceiling eye. Works a treat. Been tempted to try a hand winch on the wall and fed through the ceiling eye.
In the UK - these are called Hydraulic Motorcycle lifts or lift tables... hoists would be something you use to pull out an Engine. I have the 600KG Electro Hydraulic one from LV8 in Italy - very good - top quality - but expensive.. £2K to £2.5K ish... This is press the button to lift and lower The more manual - pump with the feet are Sealey or Harbor Freight if in the USA... sorry do not know the Aus options... Just got rid of my bike lift like in your links, too much of a pain for the bikes as they only have side stands. With just a side stand you need to use a rear paddock stand on the table to remove the rear wheel. While that is being used there is little room to use a front paddock stand to remove the front wheel. On other bikes that I have owned with a centre stand, the table lift was more versatile.
Normally machine mart have a vat free sale on this time of year. Just make sure it’s wide enough for a paddock stand comfortably and long enough to remove both wheels on stands. Many can’t do either
I have one and it’s great for everything other than removing the front wheel but that’s more because I’ve changed the front wheel chock on mine.
I bought an Abba Skylift at the NEC show. It's so much better than a conventional bike lift. As already mentioned everything can be removed with the bike on the Skylift and you can move the bike around with the lift if you have limited space in your garage. Great piece of engineering.
Same here - looked at platforms but went for an Abba Sky Lift Though I have had a problem lining up the frame pegs and Abba just tell me that’s not possible - even when I sent them the photos.
I have gone for the platform. I have not only my 1098S and "on the way" 748R, but a mate in the same suburb has helped me out in bike matters over the years with gear he has so he can put his KTM's up on it from time to time. I also don't intend (medium term) for the 748R to be the last added bike, so I think this will be the most convenient option in my particular situation.
Doesn't the Eazy Rizer lift pick up all bikes of any size, without special attachments for each bike?? I don't have one, and haven't seen one up close. but they look interesting. They sell on eBay used for £220+

Very clever. Yes, 660mm is wide enough for my front and rear stands on the 1098S, and the platform is 2.2m L minus the front wheel chock which is comfortably long enough.
This is a friend's bike with an earlier model of the platform which is shorter than mine, necessitating removal of chock,
