Lightweight Flywheel And Pulleys

  1. I was planning on fitting some lightweight pulleys when my belts need changing, might change the flywheel at the same time, I doubt I’d notice any difference with just the pulleys swapped but the weight saving would be nice.

I’ve researched swapping the flywheel out for a lighter one, a lot of the US guys have fitted aluminium flywheels or had there stock flywheel turned down and balanced. I’d favour a steel over aluminium flywheel so that kBike kit looks like the one I’ll go for.

Also interested if anyone’s fitted that kit :upyeah:

  2. Be careful what you do if its a road bike only.

V twins, high compression and lightweight flywheels don't always work well together on a road bike. Stalling at traffic stops can become an annoying problem.

  3. I'm not sure what weight is best to drop down to for flywheel. I don't know what the original weighs but I read that around 900gr should be ok for street.
