My mate has a 2010 multi with early Nonfango panniers. He only has one key. Can anyone supply a pair of replacement lock barrels and keys or cutting service for his key as local lock smiths dont have the correct blanks. Used locks from a damaged set of boxes. Any help or advice would be very much appreciated. Pete
Where are you roughly? Amongst my many other talents i'm a trained locksmith, i live in birmingham. If i could see the key i would try and help. Or try SKS Keys, just type it in google, they're probably the biggest key supplier in UK. Once you have the blank any good key cutting shop should be able to copy it £1-5.
Oooh. Yeah. Bit far that. Looks like you've got a couple of option. I think SKS can only provide blanks though.
my local shop just matched my 996 key up in there book and ordered a blank, and cutting it when it comes in, dont know if thats any help, kev
This is the key he is trying to match. Totally different from the keys I have. Any further ideas anyone
Hi. I'm having a look now and can't find an M829 blank, i have found one that looks similar but it's only 20mm long from the tip of the key up to the shoulder that stops it going too deep into the barrel. Is there any chance you could pop the key in the lock and take a photo of it in place, or get me a rough idea of how deep the key fits in the mechanism. Might be a bit of work, but we'll get there. Only problem i might have is that i'd need to place a minimum order, and that's if my account's still open, which could make it too expensive to have myself do. But if we can identify the blank it should just be a matter of finding a friendly key cutting shop to get you a couple in with their next order.
I have the same problem, and it appears that they key is the same. I've measured the key and the length from the shoulder to the tip is a 16.9mm. Width is 9mm max at the shoulder. The thin groove is 0.8mm wide and starts 4.52 mm from the right. My code is M732, which may be the lock code?
