Loosening Rear Shock ?

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by iang27, Jun 21, 2025.

  1. My Termi system for my Streetfighter has finally arrived and on the instructions which I briefly flicked through it states that to access a certain bolt the shock needs to be loosened and lifted.
I only have a front and rear stand so I imagine if I remove the shock bolt the wheel would hit the under tray or snap the tail tidy off.
Is there a ‘safe’ way to do this without the likes of an ABBA stand. A wooden wedge between the swinging arm and under tray or something.
I might be able to get to the bolt but presume with it being mentioned it must be a pig to get to.

  2. I used a step ladder opened over the rear of the bike (straddling it) and used a ratchet strap that went from the ladder to under the rear subframe. Test it out beforehand by standing on the strap, if the ladder takes your weight, you’re safe.

  3. ps Without wishing to state the obvious, but for the avoidance of mishaps… paddock stand the front wheel before lifting the rear…
