1200 Losing Clutch Fluid & Mail Order Parts

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by cmyers_uk, Jan 10, 2015.

  1. I have had my bike serviced as per the spec and last tyre change mid service the clutch fluid was low so they flushed it and replaced within another 1000 miles it was down on minimum. I can't see any leak. Is it fine just to top up or is it a sign of the clutch going?

I also had a minor accident and want to get some replacement parts , looked up part numbers who do people use for mail order parts? or is it just a case of popping to local ducati dealer in Bristol?

    Many Thanks in advance.

    Regards
    Chris

  2. Ducati's do suffer with slave cylinder seals going.
Undo the slave cylinder and see if it's wet underneath....you shouldn't need to top up....sounds like a leak.
Get an uprated one, 25% is great. That's what I have on my 2013 PP, 33% may not give enough travel.
Don't forget the discounts you get on here....

Unless I want to got to the dealer I get Protwins at Godstone to post stuff out.

  3. Perfect thanks , I've found one that is easy to order and says its fits Ducati Clutch Slave Cylinders . I am going from Full to Min in 1000 miles on clutch so will replace. Thanks for info on Proteins , ill give them shot . Cheers Chris

  4. That's the best offer I've had all day....I think I'm going to find the missus and see if she fancies a high protein shake, rich in potassium.

  7. Same thing happened to mine, it the rod on the inside of the slave cylinder rotating and wearing the seal. The newer ones have a notch in the rod to prevent it rotating. Ducati did a warranty repair for me on it, if you are out of warranty they will sometimes do a goodwill one on the parts if it's been dealer serviced. Sounds like you may have already bought the parts though...

The Oberon one is a good option...

  8. Mines a CNC from @Conquest Carbon

  9. I have just ordered an Oberon slave cylinder, as I'm not the most mechanically minded person are they easy to fit ?
