1200 Lost Key

  1. Lost my smart key , what a twat ! anyway can anybody tell me cost and procedure to get a replacement please

  4. Looks like you'll be informing the forum of the rigmarole of replacing the key fob & costs involved.

  5. I lost mine a year ago. Order via your dealer- £100 to replace - ouch especially as the old one turned up 3 weeks later.

  6. The time to order a spare key is when you don't need it. Then you are prepared. After you have lost your main key is a bit late.

  7. I have a plain key so at least I can open the fuel cap and panniers whilst using the secret starting code. Hopefully I will never need it !

  8. You should also have had a red key which will allow you to start the bike normally, without entering the PIN, if you hold it close to the antenna under the dash.

  9. If I carried the red key, with me that would Im sure be true. But its safely stored in the manual in the house :)

  11. On the DVT, it's under the black cover to the right of the dash. On the pre-DVT, it's behind the dash display itself.
