Can anyone tell me where this damper pad, 76410171A, fits onto the RH lower fairing on a 916? The part is approx 20mm diameter, 3mm thick, made of rubber with a 10mm hole in the middle. I can't see where this would go or what it would fit onto? It's part no 20 in this link https://www.stein-dinse.biz/eliste/eliste_bild.php?sid=a4148g191fd6g3f86037g&lg=en And looks like this. Thanks.
From what I remember its just stuck on the inside of the panel to stop it chattering against the battery. It sits over the inner point of one of the rivets/well nuts to stop it chafing a hole in the battery casing.
And if you fit a bolt too long https://www.facebook.com/plugins/post.php?href=https://www.facebook.com/CellierBVT/posts/690271681755934&show_text=true&width=500
It fits over one one of the well nuts to prevent it rubbing thru the battery wall. Less of a problem on the later bikes running the smaller AGM batteries, but used to cause problems on the earlier lead/acid ones.
