Hi, Got myself a Monster 1100 at the weekend with 8600 miles on the clock. It needed a 7500 mile service, which I decided to tackle myself and the belts were almost four years old, so I crossed my fingers and rode it home very conservatively....... Anyway it made it and the belts looked ok, new set arrived from @Exige this morning excellent service... Anyway I delved straight into my first valve check and I have a couple of questions for the experts out there. I did it with the belts still on TDC compression stroke is this ok? Or should it be done with the belts off? All the closers were still in spec along with the intake openings, but the exhaust openers had tightened and were just outside the adjustment spec at .08mm and .07mm but still within checking spec.... Pretty sure I got my measurements correct, does this seem fairly normal for the first valve check on these? Thanks..........
