Hi all, Check engine light and melcodiag showing p0105, horizontal map sensor status 61. Got my new map, swapped it out, same error. Disconnected it completely just, same error. Disconnected the vertical cylinder, got the p0106 error (makes sense). Put the original back in p0105 horizontal and the new spare into p0106 vertical, all errors gone and check engine gone from dash. so original error was p0105, but was actually p0106 causing the issue. Hard to believe really so looking clarity from anyone on here with similar experiences? Or have I 2 issues here and 1 is very coincidentally intermittent (don’t believe in coincidences). Also does anyone know where to get decent quality replacement maps that arnt ducati but arnt 15 quid off eBay? I got one of them to try and it broke in my hand before fitting to the bike. Had read somewhere that a Kawasaki part is identical but was never able to get a part number? Any advice welcome, thanks
Did you get the sensors the right way around? The positioning of the sensors isn't relative to the cylinder they serve. As you look at them, the right hand sensor is for the front cylinder, the left for the rear. I've had nothing but trouble with aftermarket sensors tbh. Always ended up using OEM.
thanks for the reply Nelly. No I did not realise they didn’t represent the cylinder the day in front of per se, so thank you. in that case I pulled the front map which is actually the rear cylinder and it didn’t throw a fault. Bizarre, I’ve an aftermarket map in there now but I feared I might have to go ducati again shortly, thank you for my take on this as well
Yes, the sensor on the left, nearest the horizontal cylinder is indeed the sensor for the vertical cylinder and the one on the right, towards the rear of the bike is reading the horizontal cylinder intake. However, the one on the left should have a label attached which says vertical. As for non OEM variants, I’ve used these to good effect, albeit on just 2 bikes, a Diavel and an 1199, they’re both still running several months later. In both photos the original, 2012-2014 vintage oem one is on the RHS; you’ll note the non OEM one carries the Ducati part number too.
