1200 Marzocchi 50 Mm Forks

  1. Having just picked up a new-to-me 2011, I'm looking to spruce up the suspension for me. While the MTS is pretty comfy and handles the twisties pretty well, I also find the brake dive to be on the excessive side. Same goes for squat under acceleration.

So, I was able to obtain 62 mm of rider sag up front (Race Tech Sag method). This was with the adjusters wound all the way in for my 195 lb self (in gear). Out back, I was able to match that number with the hydraulic preload all the way OUT.

Still too much dive - even with the compression increased. Ride quality is OK, but the excessive preload isn't helping. Planning on going a bit stiffer, but am looking for some numbers before I take the forks apart. Does anyone have the following information?

    1. Installed spring preload.
    2. Spring preload adjustment range (mm, not turns).
    3. Spring free length and inner/outer diameters.
    4. Stock cartridge 'bottom'. In other words, with the spring removed and forks collapsed, how much chrome slider is left exposed? Trying to figure out how close to bottomed I currently am. Thinking I'm pretty close...
