Had a ride up to Matlock yesterday and I am afraid it will be the last time. When I first you to ride out to the aforementioned it was really enjoyable. Meet new people, talk shit, have a bacon butty and ride home. Recently its lost its appeal. No one talks, the foods crap and they expect you to pay for parking.
+1 i gave up on Matlock back in the fireblade days (ie: a very long time ago)...i didnt have the sense to own a Duke, but i did realise that Matlock was shite..theyve killed it for bikers....one of the attractions for the chip eaters and slot machine feeders.
A question I've asked for some time. I do sometimes still head for Matlock (bath). It's "OK" (just). Stratford is another short ride. And then there's ????? Longer rides with an overnight (maybe) are easy. But a Sunday (or weekday evening) blast, stop for a cuppa and a chinwag, then home, in the Midlands ???? Wish I still lived in Thanet
I'm literally 10 mins away so whenever I'm out I a,ways seem to pass through. It's ok, but I wouldn't come from miles away. Ive started heading over to willingham woods quite often as the roads are nice and its a bit quieter. Don't suppose the 848 with ohlins all round was yours was it? Snells supplied lj10?
Matlock is getting boring, i too like willy woods great roads to get there, i live in Nottinghamshire ( worksop ) and the county has some superb roads and even better village pubs. I also like the manifold valley, stop at wetton mill for a drink. Last friday went upto pately Bridge and around nidderdale lovely countryside, but some of the roads were covered in crap drained from the hills.
Was at Wetton Mill last weekend, it's a nice little stop off by the river and much nicer than Matlock IMO.
never made it up to Matlock Bath and was on my to do list this summer . Is it really that crap? What's there btw ?
