What's the deal with these two? Cal makes dodgy, incongruous gibes whenever Matt approaches, Matt seems not too comfortable. Does this fly the flag for Tech3? Find I'm developing a morbid fascination in waiting for the next embarrassing encounter. Or are they good mates hamming it up? BTW not knocking either party, both seem nice guys and good at what they do.
yeh. its wearing a bit thin the whole "what clobber you wearin today" malarkey lol it seems to be cal more than owt.
They are mates. Last season Cal stole/hid Matt's passport and Matt though he'd lost it, only for Cal to produce it in the grid when being interviewed by Matt on TV live.
I think the banter is very funny. Loved it when Cal took the piss out of Matt's gruesome primrose cardigan! Cal has great timing for these comments; he delivers them fast in an off the cuff way before moving rapidly on.
It cant be a good thing that they get on. Cal is good enough to know when and when not to banter and Roberts is good enough to know whats going on with the riders. MArtin Brundle gets very similar treatment from the British GP riders, although I dont think Jenson Button's ever nicked his wallet thou :smile:
Cal is winding Matt up something rotten, knowing that (a) Matt finds it very difficult to deal with when on live tv, and (b) Matt sets himself up for it quite often with his appalling dress sense. Good on Cal for doing it; at least it shows he's got a personality!
Didn't someone put a mouse in Cal's motorhome at Jerez last season?..... probably Matt Roberts :biggrin:
Gerhard removed his 'signal out' plug though many years ago - was one of my favorite ever japes - Martin continued to interview totally oblivious
