Back in the day it seems PJ1 was the best thing for engine covers, barrels e.t.c. I was under the impression they stopped making it or importing it into the UK because of the nasties in it. It seems to have been reformulated and where satin was the finish to go for its the gloss in this new formulation that gives a better finish (one like the old satin / semi-gloss). Just one question. Anyone used this new formulation. I know some other recently have used Simoniz tough black. Also Duplicolor engine enamel (ford semi gloss black) and Sperex. Bloody clutch fluid.
Barrels get a lot hotter than side cases . I painted mine 4 years ago with ordinary satin black car paint and its still on there looking as good as you could expect 4 year old paint to look.Havent had clutch fluid on there though.
