Hi finm Seem to have an intermittent issue with the roof closing. It will open the boot lid as normal but won't lift the roof up. I can hear the motor running but something is not engaging to lift it. It takes about five minutes of messing about then for no obvious reason it works fine. It's a 2007/8 SLK200. Roof mech has recently been checked/lubricated by our local independent (he couldn't replicate the problem). Car has done about 50k miles. Any thoughts?
not a merc tech but i was thinking pump. theres a mountain of stuff on the interweb on on that fault. including a wee vid from edd china. slk roof wont open - Google-keresés
You don't say how old your slk is but when I had this problem on a 2000 clk it was the relay on the hydraulic pump. To test you can swap it with fuel pump relay. If this is the issue don't buy a new relay from Merc your local auto store will be 10th of the price. oops sorry you do say how old it is
