  1. Ok sports fans, I'm at it again!

Earlier this year I was lucky enough to pick up a nice 748R frame and V5.
Which is presently at the powder coaters being painted red (hopefully not too orange!)

Last week I took delivery of this very nice 1098SF engine with a rather saucy STM slipper attached as well as some very gay hoses! I shan't tell Mr Chizel what I paid for it ;)

I'm keeping the 916 swinger, but adding a 1098 disc bracket with speedo sensor 'ole, disc and caliper.

Trial fitted the loom, dash and ecu at the weekend and she fired right up on the bench...BOOM...!!!

ChrisW is sorting out a better ecu for me...Top Dude...:upyeah:

I have a full 50mm system to go on, but it will need work!

This one when finished will be 916 lookie like and be my road bike.
My other 748/1098 conversion will be converted to track bike and either kept and I'll sell the 848 evo conversion or I'll keep the evo and sell the 1098...Dunno yet. If you're going to be in the market for either or next spring let me know.

    More to follow....:Woot:

  15. You're getting pretty good at this Nelson. :upyeah:

Out of interest, why the 50mm instead of the 1198's fat ones?

  16. i
I wanted to retain the original sweepy uppy look of the 916 rather than the wibbly wobbly look of the 1098.
The down side is the system needs quite a lot of work to fit!
I have welder chap coming around on Friday, hopefully he'll be able to do the bizo for me.

Did you get a brake bracket sorted?

  17. @Nelson. Yes thanks. Got one via ebay from imperialsportsbikes.

  18. oh booger! I have a spare now. Appears the 916 bracket fits my concoction better than the 1098 one.
Was hoping to return the rearset favor, if you fuck your new one up, let me know...;)

  19. Theres always a chance of that. :) I might be after a rear brake master as I'm damned if i can get the bastard thing to work. Bled, re-bled, changed fluid etc. But its still shitter than if i just put me feet out to slow down.

  20. Have you removed the caliper?
Take it off and hold aloft whilst bleeding, put something between the pads, or get your missus to stick her finger in there...:Woot:
Or suspend, then pump and jam the lever down and leave overnight, then undo bleed nip.
The trick seems to be to hold the caliper upward/above the MC.
