I have always been using the Apple phone since it came out, it worked. I feel that I need to change given times move on and I get frustrated at some things that you have no options of with Apple. I want a good camera, smallish screen so not a mahusive half telly thing. Is Samsung pretty easy to operate and use? Hawawui any good...… must be if I can't spell it!!
I just got a Huawei P30 pro on a black friday deal - excellent camera but mahoosive screen. Android phones are easy to use and let you do more things to personalise them if that's your bag - My wife and daughters turned away from the dark side in the past year or so and don't regret it. loads of choices and easy to find one that suits your size requirement, Samsung and Huawei are fighting for top dog camera always but Huawei are generally cheaper and ahead of the game
Another vote for a Huawei, a Mate 10. had it 2 years now and no need to change it. Girlie has a iphone 8 with a crap camera in comparison, and the GPS chip in the Huawei is also much better when we are out and about.
Samsungs are quite good, the only thing that put me off a huawei was the google issue of not having access to google apps of some kind. Did that happen huawei owners?
how much data should I get? Currently have 500Gb but don't use my phone a lot because it's crap, just surfing the net and browsing no film watching either
Huawei Mate 20 pro here, always had an Android phone, this is the best yet, battery and camera are brilliant, I don't have a phone contract, just buy the phone and have a sim only, 4gb data any unused data roles over each month, unlimited texts and calls £8 month rolling, can be cancelled anytime. Don't need as much data nowadays as there's plenty of free stuff around. Steve
I’ve got the iPhone 11 pro max and have to say it is very good. battery is epic and the camera superb. I personally can’t stand android phones
This is o2's sim only current deals, the others will have a similar page to look at https://www.o2.co.uk/shop/sim-cards/sim-only-deals#deviceType=phone&contractLength=P12M
I've got 1 GB data and that is all I use, just a bit of surfing and no streaming - WiFi usually available so no need for data. I got P30 pro from O2 for £26/month if that's useful
Huawei P20 Pro and no issues with Google updates, etc. May be a bigger screen than you want so check out the range and also Samsung S8 at £334 is a great bargain and is more compact. P20 Pro is superb and has an outstanding camera and battery lasts 2 days!
P30 pro is similar with excellent camera and huge battery - 1 day uses only 30%. They are big screens though
I'm waiting for 5G 'phones; should be pretty soon that the networks will all roll it out everywhere and most current phones don't have the capability. Small compact for me always - the massive screen things are a pain and don't fit in any pockets. This is a great site https://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=8292&idPhone2=8161 It allows you to compare every phone by size, spec, weight, battery life. Samsung s10e & Xperia 5 are good if size is important!
Pixel 3 if you want Android, Pixel 4XL if you want up to date Android, latest features and battery life. iPhone 11 Pro is a return to form and has an excellent camera. iOS 13 is decent enough. If you're a tinkerer then the OnePlus, Xiaomi Mi are pretty decent to meddle with. Samsung et all includes far too much crapware for my taste and often orphan the phone on an older OS but they have their fans. Question for @PeterT is what can the iPhone not do that's frustrating you? I know what I prefer in Android but in all honesty there's not much of actual day-today advantage over the iPhone, and not really any drawbacks either. They're both mature OS platforms.
Well nothing really it cannot do, but I fancy a change as like most things it's the issue I have that apple control, music is pretty shit really the way you can collate the library is not to my liking and several apps I use aren't great, I don't have an apple computer so really would like a change
On the music side, all the Android compatible apps are available on iOS too (and I agree about iOS Music... sucks).
Huawei is the absolute tits. The camera is pure epic. I've got a Mate 20 Pro. Took this of a V4R press bike at Anglesey while I was dribbling over it. Mega quality. Battery is awesome as well, also super charging it charges 70% from dead in half an hour. Mega
