Had the revs hanging around 3k every time I shut the throttle for most of my journey to work this morning, I stopped, checked throttle cable etc all looked ok, same after 2 restarts, it only sorted itself out after a good hard run full throttle through all the gears, seemed ok after that. Has anyone any experience/ideas/cure for this?
If you're absolutely sure the throttle cable isn't hanging up somewhere and throttle stop ok, then I would suspect small air leak. To be able to tick over to high it needs the air to do it. It's obviously getting it from somewhere you need to find from where! One of those things that can be a right pain to find.
Arh, maybe the stepper motor if it is air, if it does it again Ill try blocking the feeds from the stepper maybe.
Searching for problems like that being systematic goes along way unless you can afford to get someone else to do it!
Long shot maybe. I've had similar problem, it was a little sticky tar covered stone from the surface dressing stuck in the throttle linkage
