just a heads up really. I've had my monster 1200s for 700 miles and my boots have already started to wear through the paint on the left footrest assembly, the bit were a heel guard would normally be on other bikes, but on the 1200 also doubles as the passenger footrest. If you value the paint then get some protection on it. R&G do something specific to the 1200, but you can cut some Oxford paint saver to fit as well. I thought this would be an issue when I first got the bike as I'm a size 12 boot!, but did not expect it within 700 miles.
