Hi all, Ever since I got the Monster last December I've had the odd occasion where starting didn't happen first time and I'd get what I assume to be a sprag type noise. Anyway I decided to have a dig around and find that the battery is reading 16v whether it's off, ignition on or fired up (idle revs). When off the dash reads 12.5v by the way and the optimate shows no charging issues at all. Feels like there's an issue here but what may it be exactly and do I need to be disconnecting anything to stop whatever it is becoming worse?
Panic over, despite stripping the regulator out and then the battery etc which still read over 16v... Eventually I tried the obvious - a different multimeter and yeah you guessed it. I should have known the voltage on the dash was a clue ffs....Anyway it can have a clean in there while it's all apart, every cloud and all that...
