I'm trying to refit the front calipers to my bike and the right hand one with the double banjo is proving to be a bit of a nightmare. I just can't get it back on the disc. The space available is really tight. Is there any particular trick to this? A couple of pics show the caliper in question. Thanks guys.
Push your pads back as much as you can, this usually lets you wiggle the caliper back on. Can put a bit of masking tape on your wheel to protect it if you are worried. Undo the lid on the reservoir, make sure it doesn't spill over.
push the pads to push all the pistons in fully make sure the fluid in the pot doesn't squirt out on that picture the pads next to the 17 stamping could go back considerably. that will give you the clearance to put it back on. put the bolts in finger tight and gently stroke the brake lever to push the pads out evenly to the discs, then tighten up the bolts
Thank you both very much! Much appreciated. I've removed many calipers over the years, but none have ever had such limited space. I feel like a puppet now
