Sadly my beautiful and much loved Monster 1200S needed to go. As I get older (77 next week) I've found it gradually becoming too heavy for me. Particularly when manoeuvring it about. It's been the best bike I've ever owned, and I've had a few. I was really pleased to hear about the new much lighter Streetfighter V2S, I wanted one. But disappointment followed when I heard what the seat height was and that Ducati weren't going to provide a lower seat. In fact they do a higher option? I did follow up with a couple of dealers and Ducati Italy, but nothing came of those enquiries. So I sadly I had to leave the marque and look elsewhere. So I've bought a new Street Triple RS. Forum members did ask me to stay on this forum and let them know about the new bike. After a bit of a wobbly start when the handover was delayed due to a faulty left hand switch assembly. But so far and only a couple of hundred miles I'm quite pleased. Paint and finish is great, weight is fine and the bike rides beautifully. It's too quiet, almost like riding an E bike with earplugs in, and it's a pig to clean. Handling is different but once again I need to get used to it. Overall pleased with my new Triumph, but it's no Ducati.
Snap! Awesome bikes. Which options did you choose? I can’t see if you have a rad guard fitted. I added a Evotech to mine, which is an easy fit. That’s a big ol’ radiator up front. Too quiet, you say…I’m surprised. Perhaps I should ask, instead, which earplugs do you use as mine must be a bit crap! Handling wise, I find mine intuitive. It just goes where I look. Love mine!
Evotech rad guard arriving today, heated grips and flyscreen. Waiting for an Evotech tail tidy. I use custom moulded ear plugs, wouldn't be without them.
Fantastic bikes. I keep going back to them. Had a 675 in 2007, 765 RS in 2017, bought a 765 R in 2023, they just suit me. Off to the south of France on it for 10 days next month.
That's a lovely bike you have there! I've got a 765RS and I agree that when compared to the Ducati, the Triumph is certainly lacking in the "specialness" department. That said, the 765 is a comfy all-rounder, it's super fun to ride and it keeps up with most everything on the road. Good luck
Sorry you’ve had to give up the beloved Ducati but fair play that you’re still on two wheels at nearly 77. Happy birthday for next week and long may the two wheeling continue.
I had a 65 plate RX. Loved it. I also had a 675 Daytona in black and gold. Selling that is my biggest bike regret. Enjoy your new bike James.
Had a 2019 765RS til earlier this year. They are great bikes. Only sold it as I fancied a change. Can do pretty much anything - tour, commute, track.
