Just checked and found this to have been updated; I now gives me the motivation to not bother with the MOT and SORN the bike in Oct/Nov saving about £10/month until I book an MOT next spring and find a 6 month waiting list - what to do I think I will just get an MOT but not panic about the end of July and maybe SORN at end of October saving enough to get the missus a special Chrimbo pressie
It won’t be a panic mate, they are doing mot’s now so will be fine. I took the decision on my wife’s car to leave extended, so we can separate tax/insurance from mot/service time as it’s better to spread the cost. If it’s the same when my Porsche is due in oct (I believe it’s planned to end `Aug) then I’d leave that too.
I believe the cut of date for extension is 31st July so I got in by 1 day with the extension, my wife's car will be due in Oct so in same boat as you. I'd rather it was towards the end of summer as there is always a scrum in Spring to get an MOT to get back on the road so I may just do it in September so I have more breathing space next year (January isn't the best time for a 30 mile ride for an MOT tempting as it is)
Just checked mine for my 900ss and extended to middle of November, it ran out in May!! (Needs a new rear tyre!!)
