1200 DVT Move To E10 Fuel

  1. E10 is allowed according to the owners handbook, but nothing over 10% ethanol.

  2. They do it in France and some other Eu countries, and I doubt Ducati make different tanks for different NSC.

  3. Not sure why anyone would put anything else in their bike than V Power, saves so many issues

  4. I use either V Power or Tesco Momentum.

But will the providers stick 10% ethanol in premium fuels? Can they?

  5. Yeah, sure. When touring all around Europe, I would not dream of putting anything else in my bike than V Power. Even when I am running low on fuel and the nearest station selling V Power is 200 miles away.

  6. 98 or 99 RON has been available at most stations I have been to in Europe. Well, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain, Germany anyway.

  7. I am pretty sure all unleaded fuel sold in the UK has upto 5% ethanol as standard due to a government regulation, however Esso super unleaded has no ethanol in it according to their website.

  8. The regulation regarding Ethanol is only for standard fuels and does not apply to Premium fuels...

  9. Lots of E10 fuel in Europe, I also go for the premium petrol (if available) but so far have never noticed any difference to the Multi even on 93 / 95 fuel.

  10. Synergy Supreme+ premium petrol is the only one with no Ethanol apart from in some areas like Devon and Geordie land for some reason...

  11. What is the ethanol content of your fuels?
The majority of unleaded 95 Octane petrol sold in the UK contains up to 5% ethanol as required under the Government’s Renewable Transport Fuels Obligation (RTFO).

There is currently no requirement for renewable fuel (such as ethanol) to be present in super unleaded (97 grade petrol).

Esso super unleaded petrol (Synergy Supreme+ Unleaded 97) is ethanol free (except in Devon, Cornwall, the Teesside area and Scotland). We would therefore advise anyone who has concerns about the presence of ethanol in petrol to use Synergy Supreme+ – providing they do not fill up in Devon or Cornwall, the Teesside area or Scotland.

    Our Synergy Fuels:
    • Diesel
    • Supreme+ Diesel
    • Unleaded
    • Supreme+ Unleaded

  12. I always wondered why certain areas have different ethanol content
I do use V power, most of the time, though it is annoying that Esso supreme is excessively more expensive than 95, about time it went the other way around as it is cleaner for air pollution

  13. In the US we have extensive experience with 10% ethanol. In fact where I live I cannot get anything else but at my vacation house can get 100% gas. 2015 dvt with 19000 miles. I have run both fuels back to back in tanks and can tell no difference whatsoever. The non ethanol usually costs more also. So 95% of my mileage is 10% ethanol premium usually 91-93 octane.

In winter storage for 2-3 months I add stabilizer to the ethanol fuel and have no problems with that either.
