  1. hi all just had service done by hyside at Romford very good job done but engine error light didn't show cause for being on but so far has stayed off hyside suggested getting new battery as mine now 4 yrs old even though use optimiser looking at new lithium ones anyone used them on DUCATI ??? 2. 3-4years is about right, I'd change it. Got no idea on going down the lithium route but you'd need a lithium charger also. So its not just a one-purchase deal.

  3. Had an 18ah Shorai Lithium on my 1100 Hypermotard for 5 years, been on my MTS for a year. Got it sent direct from USA (can't do so now thanks to shipping restrictions).
Not cheap but well worth it. No issues whatsoever, instant cranking and a massive weight saving of nearly 3kg. Stores over winter for months without a top up charge as it goes into a 'sleep' mode (which you need to remember if unused for a week or so - simply wake it up by operating the lights for a minute or two before use). I'm told that they don't work well if you have a bike with an alarm, something to do with the constant small current drain.
I think Carrot Cycles stock them. Ideally go for 18ah rather than 14 and best get a lithium specific charger. The Shorai ones come up on EBay occasionally for about £60 or so.

  4. Ive had a lithium battery on my for a few years didn't realise you need a lithium charger aswell, unsure without looking at box my chargers came in...charge lithium aswell or not... What damage is cause if the not...

Wonder if this is the cause of my stalling issue lately and the batteries goosed

  5. A specific Lithium charger is not 100% necessary but is the best option. Most old style chargers will do ok but, according to Shorai, avoid using any multi mode trickle charger with an anti-sulphation mode.
