Yep, I saw that but you can buy the same thing that also just plugs into the din socket as well. It sticks out a bit but meh and you just remove it at night so it doesn't continually draw down on power. My mates XR1000 seems to be powered up all the time but I haven't checked my multi yet...
I have one of those. Also, not sure of all models but some had one under the seat. I used that one for things like cam or power bank charging. For nav, I wired into the nav port direct. Only used the front DIN port for power into my tank bag, which was a Ducati touring one (the branded Givi one)
If the bike isn't running due to canbus system all the power outlets turn off after 5-minutes unless you connect a new one direct to battery. Which then could lead to a dead-battery, why not carry a battery bank with power-delivery tech. If the socket/usb port is rated at 3-Amps only you will not get upto 45Watt supercharging just so you know. To be fair, if you try to charge something which draws to much power. On a canbus system car/bike it will shut off the socket & only reset it usually on a new start up. So I am been overly twatish'
