I can’t see that in the article, it says the police believe the possible cause was excessive speed?

Well OK but it’s a bit of a stretch to suggest that the bike was at fault from that information. I’ve wobbled a bit on a high speed overtake & I'm pretty sure I just got the power down wrong. Anyways, RIP Otto of Hesse

 

The article is typical in that it doesn't know so suggests a lot, then pads it out with royal relations and links to mcdonalds.

 

Not just any crash.. a Ducati crash!

 

Its a shame, but in the UK it happens every year when the born agains are released from their winter lockdowns and outstretch their abilities. This years are late cos of the lockdown but they are starting to trickle in already. A sportsbike rider was killed just a few miles from me last week The locals all claimed he was riding crazy, but then they always do claim that.

The article says "The cause of the accident is not yet clear, but the motorbike is thought to have started swerving after overtaking another vehicle at high speed."

Considering the guy just paid a 4 figure sum in speeding fines, I'd maybe think he is not the best rider I have heard of.

I do think the Multi is a bit light on the front end and actually just fitted a Ducabike steering damper rig to mine because of that but it's hard to say if the weave in the accident was rider error or bike error. Even if its the bike, they can be corrected if you do the right things. Who knows what really happened ?

 

Was it rear a shock mounting bolt, or rear wheel spindle that sheared..?

Must confess there were a few times when i felt the front go light on mine at speed. Its no wonder they have speed limit stickers on the luggage and warnings in the handbook.

 

That's tragic. However, it's not a 'Ducati accident' or a 'Ducati motorbike accident' as stated. It's an accident. Yes a motorbike accident and yes a tragic one, but it's not Ducati's fault. If I were Ducati, I'd be on the Daily Mail's case pronto. F**king Daily Fail.

Just looked at the photos and the penultimate one might even show the poor chap covered with a white tarp.
If that is the case, it’s disgusting and a total lack of respect.

 

To be honest there is nothing accidental about it... he did that!
