Multistrada Vibration Damper Between Engine And Skid Plate Removal

  1. Thanks to all for helping me with my HFCU removal project. I wrote up the connector info that was presented by all and posted it in the Tech forum.

My next project is removing the vibration damper between the engine and skid plate which broke off while doing an oil change. Has anyone removed/replaced the damper?

I've ordered the part and expect it in a week or 2. I'd like to pull the broken stub from the engine case in the meantime. Do you know if the engine case end has reversed threads? Does the damper have a stud at the engine case or does the engine case have the stud? Put vice grip pliers on the metal damper base to remove or is there a good way to do it? I don't like the idea of using vice grips there, but will if there's no better way.
