Forget the style of music, but if you could put together your ultimate band, who'd be in it? Mine would be; Vocals- Kelly Jones from the Stereophonics, just love his voice, if I could sing this would be how I'd like to sound. Guitar- Dave Gilmour from Pink Floyd, he's made music that's bought tears to my eyes on occasions! Bass- JJ Burnell from The Stranglers, my idol growing up, he made me pick up a bass(and shortly put it back down when I realised I couldn't play to save my life!) Drums- Phil 'Filthy Animal' Taylor, Motorhead, he may not be the best, but what he does is awesome.
Mine Would Be: Vocals: Female - Kate Bush...I still get shivers listening to Wuthering Heights. Vocals: Male - Bon Scott...grew up listening to him, love his play on words. Guitar: Lindsay Buckingham...Fleetwood Mac...mad as a march hare, but what a guitar player. Bass: Phil Lynott...just because he the greatest Irish rocker ever. Drums: Neil Peart from Rush...nothing more to be said.
Drums...Phil Collins. Guitar...Dave Gilmour Keyboard...Rick Wakeman Bass...John Entwistle Vocals...Kate Bush/Dave Gilmour
Vocals - Bruce Dickinson, true operatic tenor and superb performer Bass - James Jameson, rhythm and solid groove Drums - Ringo, sometimes keeping it simple is best and he'd be fun Guitar - Slash, technical ability second to none and has his own true sound Sax - me! Would just love the opportunity to play with the above. Seriously though, Charlie Parker to hear what he'd do with this combo
Hmm. Tricky one. Hard to disagree much with the OP but I suppose: Guitar: David Gilmour or perhaps John Frusciante (Red Hot Chili Peppers). But some days Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top) Bass: Peter Hook (Joy Divison / New Order) Drums : Keith Moon Vocals male : Otis Redding Vocals femaie : Natacha Atlas (sometimes to be found with The Transglobal Underground) Keyboards : Eno (can't go wrong with Eno) But I'm thinking that this would be one strange band. Would probably split over musical differences after about 30 minutes.
Bass - Jack Bruce Drums - Dave Grohl (or me) Guitar - Hendrix (who else?) Keyboard - Keith Emerson Vocals - Chester Burnett It would sound awesome (or did I mean awful?) AL
Now you see, Otis is probably my favourite male vocalist ever, t one and feeling wise so now I don't know
Vocals Jim Morrison Drums John Bonzo Bohnam Lead Dave Gilmour & SRV Bass John Paul Jones Keyboard Rick Wright
Nice one, the only small changes I'd suggest would be to substitute Jim Morrison with Robert Plant and Dave Gilmour/SRV with Jimmy Page, oh and let Mr Jones do the keyboards as well as bass...
Zappa - now there's a guitarist. Unfortunately any band that Zappa didn't put together himself would have split before they got into the studio or rehearsal room.
rob halford(judas priest) or phill mogg (ufo) vocals..........................or david coverdale!!! randy rhoads ...guitar........oh and and angus young for some real dirt micheal schenker...guitar neil murray .....bass tommy aldridge ...drums...... jon lord ..............hammond organ omfg .....im making devil signs with my hands and my foots tapping, head shaking .............................
My choice would be:- Vocals: Robert Plant Guitar: Jimmy Page Bass: John Paul Jones Drums: John Bonham.
My choice is Vocals: Roger Daltrey Guitar: Pete Townsend Bass: John Entwistle Drums: Keith Moon Now Who would have thought of that? ;-)
Sorry I'm sure Rob can sort a tumbleweed for such occasions when he re-does the smilies. I've been to see the Stereophonics about six times both with and without Stuart Gable and they are amazing. I had tickets to see Kelly Jones, Roger Daltrey and Paul Weller at this year teenage cancer trust show at the Albert Hall, but I was away at work. I think that would have been special.
