... I tried an 848 and I liked it! the mutleys clutch failed -hydraulics - so the dealer leant me an 848 evo Corse whatsit. It's good!
Yeah, a bit difficult to get a good feeling for the bike in the pouring rain, but very good so far. I might have to keep it for a couple of days...
Andy can't get his head around two letters, let alone 'Evo Corse Special Edition' : ) actually looking king forward to my commute this morningM
Welcome to the Forum Gerry there are a mixed but likeable bunch on here, most of them with failing mamories - how long have you owned an Aprillia?
can you give us a bit of feedback on what its trail is like and whether the suspension is linear..........
is it any good as a winter hack, or if you fancy a bit of greenlaning? seems to quite the thing at the moment, taking superbikes on the Dakar, or looking for truffles...
This translation is brought to you by Ducatiforum.co.uk "does it go round corners ok and do the wheels go up and down at the right time...........without bashing your testicles"
no, my testicles are well and truly bashed. Quick question - how do you turn the bloody quickshifter off? Every time I go to change gear, it's like someone has pushed a banana up the exhaust. It's driving me nuts!
Just use the clutch. Or (with the ignition on but engine off) scroll through to DQS using the switch on the left bar. I think you then hold it downwards and it should toggle off. i tend to clutch shift unless 'making progress' and under acceleration. Shouldn't really use it at steady revs and not from 1st to 2nd.
Thanks Stu! ok, so, what I like about the 848: mostly everything. The motor pulls from 2,000 with a proper rasp. Excellent! Handling is really nice. It doesn't like to wander into a corner tho - it likes some throttle to drive it through. Mmm, very good all round. The position is good from a 'weight on wrists' perspective, but I was having problems seeing through my visor with the jacket I wore yesterday. High neck. So, tonight it was dirty and had no fuel. So I took it back : ). And got a 2013 mutley. First impressions were not good. Very meh. With all the praise heaped on the thing, maybe I had expected it to be giving me a blowjob while pulling a wheelie and showering me with cash. But it squirmed on the Scorpion rear and just rode like any tall bike. So I thought I'd gas it off the lights. Holy mother of god! In touring mode the thing was wheelying off down the road! Proper bark from the zaust and getting some serious speed. Officer. Wow! It's good! Looks like I have this until mid next week. At least.
Thats exactly how i felt about it last weekend when i rode one (again) last one i rode was a 2011/12 S model and i swear it felt more planted, the 2013 Skyhook just felt vague, didn't like those scorpion tyres one bit, just felt out of sorts in the bends to me. Reckon a tyre change would do it the world of good though, power wise its just bonkers for the type of bike it is. Definitely on my list, just not with scorpion tyres or skyhook. real world
