My Street fighter has died!!!

  1. Recently my SF developed a misfire and i thought nothing of it............................... until yesterday when it had a major electrical meltdown!!
I was cruising along the M25 outside lane below 100mph when it started coughing? it felt like someone pulled the plug out of the electrical supply, it died for around 100 foot and then suddenly came back to life? It was ok for another 40 miles or so then it occured again a total loss of power!!! It now worried me somwhat as i knew something was not right?
6 miles later it happened again and i saw that the display was blank, no speed or rev counter, then it started to flicker with the engine now stuttering badly. I pulled over to the hard shoulder and had a look at the bike to see if i could fix it, checked it over and could see nothing wrong, so i started it and managed to nurse the brute home coughing and spluttering.
No i did not put diesel in the tank, it was the same fuel that i always use, so the AA have towed it to my dealer for waranty. Speaking with them they have indeed come accross this before so they might know what it is, but it is definitely wiring though so i will keep you posted.

Has anyone got a Panigale i could borrow in the meantime please?????????????

  2. I had exactly the same when I took a Hyper out for a spin (demo bike) turned out it was simply the battery terminals were loose, I would suspect something similar, bad earth maybe?

  3. Checked al that when i got it home, battery fine, good voltage from alternator also.

  4. I was going to ask if it was a burnt stator or something but guess not. Wow - well, hope it all gets sorted. I'd be interested to hear what the issue was!

  5. So would i, they have not found it yet???

  6. Problem found, a coil pack on the front cylinder. All back now and running perfectly.
