I have a ST4 & the neutral light was staying on. If anyone is interested these switches can be repaired, it's a bit fiddly, but it can be done. I decided to have a go as the switch was knackered anyway. So here is how I repaired it. Remove the switch from the rear of the gearbox. Break off the plastic end filled with resin & retain this & the wire Cut the swaged end ring off with a junior hacksaw being careful not to damage the plastic insulator. Remove the plastic insulator complete with top contact making note of how it comes apart. Remove the top contact from the insulator & reduce to O/D of the largest O/D by 1mm. Reassemble the switch in reverse order you took it apart Break up the resin in the plastic cap save the cap & bare the wire. Fold the wire back on its self being careful not to let it fold back onto the insulation. place the wire in the hole of the top contact with the plastic cap in place. Fill the plastic cap with 5 minute epoxy let it set & your switch will now work correctly
I've had a bit of a problem with the neutral light on my ST staying on once or twice... It appears to just get gummed up with black oily residue. I found that taking it off, giving it a good clean and soak in WD40, drying it out and then refitting it usually works. Once it gets beyond this working I may try taking it apart...
