New 1098s Owner

  1. Well after selling my Honda sp1 to fund a new to me 996/998 but nothing was coming up for sale , but tonight a mint 09 1098s came up for sale so went for a look and fell in love so picking it up tomorrow evening ( not gonna sleep tonight ) only around 12500 on the clock , full termi system , slipper clutch , rearsets , lots of carbon and of course Ohlins all round ......roll on tomorrow

  10. Now that is good! It already has all the right bits. The only thing I can see is it still has the standard seat. You might want to change that if you find you slide about all over the seat. Well done :upyeah:

  11. Only bits I'd look at are

    1) As @bettes said the seat, I found it pants, I slid where the bike wanted me not where I wanted. If your small then consider the foam seat, if your tall the Superpole seat is worth looking at.

    2) The standard mirrors are rubbish and vibrate to point of uselessness. Some like extenders to push them out but I found the real problem was vibration. I'd go either the DP Performance mirrors or the Gran Turismo from this guy in the US (he knows how to post to the UK ;)), with everything Ducati not cheap.     Other stuff, well frame plugs, lighter clutch slave if you feel the clutch heavy (it may have one already don't know from pics), rad and oil cooler guards (again it may already have them).

    Oh and the forks look like they are flush with the triple clamp, they normally protrude to the 3rd ring on the fork tops, but there may be a reason that's been set up that way.

    Overall it looks great though and you have a very nice bike, as I said I'll be interested to hear what you think when the roads are drier.

  12. Agreed. I think the fork legs aren't flush cause it's only got a speedy moto top yoke as well! ;-)

  13. Very nice mate, you must be pleased. Has all the bits i have been slowly putting on mine.

    You just need white rim tape ;)

  15. That's probably the worst paint job ive ever seen Pavey

    But nice bike Dave, some nice trinkets on it although not a fan of the full clutch cover.
