  1. Hi all,

I pick up my new 899 tomorrow. My first Ducati after three 675s and 675R.

I've considered the change since first riding an 899 last year but couldnt prise myself off the 13 675R after running it round a few trackdays. However a car driver wrote off my 675R in Summer and the Termi deal re-emerging again i found it hard to say no this time.

Will be used for commuting all year (until the snow arrives) and trackdays in Spring/Summer.

Will pop by now and again for advice im sure. Never been on a forum that has a cleaning section before!

  2. Congratulations, just got mine a few days ago, pity the weather has been crap ever since !

The Termi deal is a big bonus, must be to keep sales ticking over rather than then being stagnant until spring.

  3. Welcome along. Mines due in a few weeks too. Not sure I'll be getting through the run in period this year though.

  4. Going to book my first service when i pick it up as i'll be ready for it next week.

  5. Rode 25 miles home in the pissing rain. Ran a cloth doused in acf over it before I left the dealership though. Wet mode was nice and smooth even in the torrential downpour riding it was fun. Roll on Monday morning to try race mode on way to work

  7. Welcome Dave :)

Where in the north west are you?

  8. Once you get it ran in, you will love this fekkin bike........nice warm summers day, 9 or 10k revs, tap that quickshifter-bang-bang-bang!!!, just lush it is....makes you feel great riding it :D:D:D

  9. I'm in manc. Got the bike from the guys at ducati Manchester.
Its my main form or transport so I'm hoping the acf works as well on this as it did on my daytonas.

  10. Love this bike. Love it, love it, love it!

Ordered some Oberon pegs to replace OE ones. Two commutes in rain and 4 big slip off pegs.

I do have big banana feet though.

  11. I guess you are in love :)

  13. I like bananas :)

  14. Mate - just bought from Ducati Manchester too. What did you think of them? (At risk of repeating my Q in another thread)..... Did you get them to fit a Bike Trac too? They gave me a really good PX price for my 675 SE but I think they've just shaved it off elsewhere.

  15. phnarr phnarr!

  16. Thought they were great to deal with. No bike trac but will look into it in the future I reckon. How much did you get the bike trac for?

  17. Mines sat in the garage with a whole 2 miles on it. The weathers crap and I don't fancy running it in on slippy tyres on a slippy road. Got my biketrac for 250 with a years subscription from eBay. Ducati Leeds fitted it for me for 60 quid. A little steep for attaching 3 wires and hiding the unit but figured it was worthwhile to get a certificate of installation.

  18. Mine was £400 supplied & fitted by Manchester Ducati... sans subscription. That'll be £99 more!

  19. Done 440 miles need to stick 200 on it for monday
