New Bike, Big Ride Coming Up

Discussion in 'Newbies Hangout' started by L7apk, May 1, 2018.

  1. how do everyone, my first post and my first Ducati.
    1200S touring Dvt 2016
First time out last week did about 120 miles up to the Lakes and back.
Not a good result, my right hand fingers spent most of the time asleep, to the extent of me using the cruise as often as I could to give them a rest.
So , I've rolled up a 6"x3" piece of lead and rammed it into both ends of the bars with a good squirt of sicoflex to glue it in, put a heavy set of bar end weights on and fitted a pair of puppies. Ride out today and it was a different bike, did a good 60 miles with no vibe probs at all .....phweeee.
So on Sunday I'll be travelling down to Portsmouth and jumping on the Santander ferry and then spending a week in the Pyrenees. The route I've planned gives me 150-180 miles a day with the rides taking about 5 hours each ish.. hoping my bike Is kind to me..
wish me luck, I'll post a few photos
