New Ce Approval Law For Bike Gear-set To Go Live In April

  1. Very interesting, I'm now going to be checking all my labels when I get back home!

  2. I can see insurance companies, given the weasels they are, will probably refuse to replace gear if included in your policy, if it does not have the correct label and the worst of companies may try and wriggle out of large appropriate compensation claiming not approved and tested kit, caused further injury than approved kit would have.

In the short term it will probably see a quick boost to sales but it's how insurance companies use it after that worries me.

  3. The recent article on leathers manufacturing posted on here made very interesting reading as it explained this new legislation and which manufacturers did just enough and which did more. One thing that did come out of the article was that some smaller manufacturers could not afford the costs of compliance even though their techniques meant their suits exceeded the minimum standard. Wonder what this will do to the small community of suit makers who support the racing fraternity. Andy
