Thought I’d replace the chain on my Monster 1200S with a gold one. Mines a 520 & 106 Links. Never bought one before. X Ring - O Ring - Brand - Place to buy etc and do you buy the split link separately? Prices vary massively looking on eBay and always worry about fakes.. Thanks...
Tsubaki arguably make the best chains you can buy I always buy my stuff from Brett at RRPS www.roadraceperformanceshropshire.com if you mention I sent you to him (Adam Treacher) he might give you a bit of a tickle
Yep, agree with Adam! Split link comes with chain! If it’s for the road, possibly a bit of track go for D.I.D zvmx, just put one on my v4, either Brett at rrp or Alan at A+R racing will sort you out, you want x ring whatever
Thanks - Huge difference in price. My local dealer wants £80:00 to fit I'll go with the DID .. and hopefully get a discount.
Fit it you’re self if you can ,it’s pretty easy! Or if you’re not too far from Hereford bring it here and I’ll do it for you!
No doubt Afam kit far superior to DID, my DID lasted 11000 miles and Afam still going strong on 20000 miles and no sign of much wear at all.
You may well be right, I wouldn’t know! I replace my chain every couple of thousand miles! There’s no way I would do 20,000 miles on one chain! Just my opinion!
I've always used DID and had no problems, i made a change just to try 3 years ago, a Ognibene chain, fucking thing snapped at 80 mph on the motorway, it punched a hole in my side casing broke my CF hugger, i mean destroyed it and wrecked my number plate holder and had to wait 3 hours for recovery!! It ended up costing me a shit load of money to sort out, DID!!!!!
DID and RK are the best drive chains. That's why they have most of the OEM market, although the chains supplied OEM are of a lower spec than the stuff you will buy in shops. RK Xtreme sealed ring chain kits come with a 5 year warranty if you buy a complete chain and sprocket kit.
My Afam kit has done double the mileage of previous DID kit and is hardly worn. Afam currently on 20000 miles.
