New Clutch Master

  1. Had a bit of a nasty surprise the other week when 200km from home the clutch master decided to fail. New Brembo one arrived Friday and is fitted so bike is once again operating normally just my pocket being somewhat lighter.

That trip though has shown me that the Monster is not the bike for me being far too uncomfortable for anything other than shorter trips so am going to be looking for a sports tourer and hope to view a Triumph Sprint ST 955i later this week.

  2. Why didn't you just buy a new seal? Way cheaper and very quick and easy to fit.

  3. Well because there is not a lot of places to actually get such things here plus wanted the bike operational quickly as it was the part had to come from Holland ia Fedex I will certainly try to get a seal kit snf rebuild the original as they fetch good money however after an online search the only place listing one online that I have found so far is for sale from Florida USA and listed at $60 plus another $20 for postage and frankly I don;t trust the shipping handling places in Florida having had stuff stolen from them during shipping in the past.

When I am next in the city and have the time I will go into the bike shop and ask if they can source them and price though I am not so hopeful about the price as I asked about cam belts and they were darned pricey.

  4. Hard to get seal kits for these so easier to buy new unfortunately
