Hello all, Got back into biking about 9 months ago after a long break since I emigrated to Czechia (came back a couple years ago). Being riding a Fireblade but although it's a nice bike it doesn't have a lot of soul, at least until you get it to 7k RPM then you're already breaking speed limits... So I finally got a bike I've wanted since teenager-hood, and it has a bit more character
Good eye, Vulcan fan. I've got a carport in construction but my bikes live in the garage which is elsewhere.
Hopefully fully tanned when they're back in the arrival lounge, but keep it clean as no naughty white bits onshow please.
Guys, a question. I've just insured it via Bennets and their plate lookup says it's a 748 SPS. I think this is incorrect, I believed (and still do) that it's a bog-standard Biposto. How can I tell for sure? I have written to Ducati but I expect I will wait a while to hear anything back. BTW - the production number (serial) encoded in the VIN is exactly 5000. Is that special?
That’s a standard biposto, you can see the subframe is not alloy, and the holes for rear pegs are visible. Definitely not an SPS etc sad to say which in 99% certain were Mono only.
Bloody hell, my suspicions were justified. I rode it back to back with my '14 Fireblade to which I've just fitted a quickshifter and so needed to test it. The best way I can compare them is, like the Ducati is a clown who inappropriately finds himself at a serious funeral, and the Blade is the vicar telling him to be quiet and sit down. I love it.
