Not totally sure if this is the correct forum but it seems the most likely... Can anyone recommend a number plate supplier for legal bike plates in the Angus area? Or failing that an online company that will accept emailed scans of documents - I don't fancy sending my originals through the post if it can possibly be avoided. There are loads of dodgy looking plate sellers online and on eBay but all are a bit vague about how they need to see your documents. Thanks, MB.
I buy off eBay with no problem. Check for DVLA suppliers near your postcode https://www.gov.uk/number-plate-supplier
Yes i'm looking for the opposite, a small plate for the 998 but i've been put off by the redtape so far on ebay.
Thanks all. I called in at a local independent motoring shop on the off chance - turns out they actually make bike plates! He did have to have a couple of goes at it right enough but all sorted. XH558 - I got a small plate from someone on ebay last year. It was excellent quality and had the BS number on it too but obviously not the suppliers name. Proportions were correct so from a distance it looked legitimate. I will see if I can find the seller and post back.
as said, showplates are the answer, one thing that is sometimes overlooked with these suppliers is that the plates might not be reflective.
Found the eBay seller I mentioned: https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/wesellnumberplates I got an 8 x 6 but they do smaller by the looks of it.
Thanks again to all. Useful information for anyone needing plates in the future. I never thought of Angus Classic Bikes - would have given me a legitimate reason for a sunny (but cold) trip to Forfar past the Pictish stones. MB.
You'll be coming from Brechin then? Tor the unenlightened - https://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/forfar/aberlemnostones/index.html
I've just ordered mine up, 7 x 5 with a border and no slogans, based in the UK for £9.95 / free post.
