Desert Sled New Scrambler Launches At Eicma

Discussion in 'Scrambler' started by El Toro, Nov 5, 2019.

  1. Obviously in homage to the Cagiva Elephant...........but it looks like it’s fallen out of the ugly tree and hit every ugly branch on the way down.

Not my cup of tea. Sorry.

  2. Yeuch!! [IMG]
The onlookers at the show don't look too impressed either.

  3. Quite thoughtful though, putting covers on those rear cup holders.

I think it’s the back that spoils it mostly.

  5. Oh. Maybe not. Ignore what I said before.

  6. Don’t think the colour helps to be honest think it needs to be dark grey or black or something not white

  7. Still, it stops someone else trying to stick Tupperware boxes to their Scramblers.

  8. Probably looking at the off centre rear mudguard thinking at least get the basics right

  9. Yes - seriously UGLY and I have has 800 and 1100 scrambler... so not a Scrambler hater... but this is :poop:

  10. Are they competing at the next Paris Dakar.

  11. I thought the trend with spoked wheels was to have the spoke attach to the wheel adjacent to the rim which possibly reduces the incidence of loss of tyre pressure but clearly not for this version of the Scrambler. Andy

  12. Think it looks like something from Legoland , not my cup of tea either,

  13. Needs more fuel tanks...

I rather like it. If it was priced to compete with the (also quite ace) Tenere 700 then that might have “buy me” written all over it. As it’ll be $$$$$$$$ though, I still have the hots for a 1260 Enduro or a 1260 PP. :)

  14. Where do I start?.....big fan of the elefant and used to have one.
Colour - too much white...bigger stripes and graphics
    The back tanks are for?
    How do you fit luggage?
I like the lights and the front.

  15. Handguards will last 5 minutes - look like my 2010 MTS ones - surely the design department can do better?

  16. I think the main reason for edge mounted spokes is to allow the fitment of tubeless tyres. These are not an option on the Scramblers.

  17. Especially on a show bike with all the attention to detail - no wonder build quality is questionable on production bikes if they can't get a show bike prepped!

  18. probably the one to buy for rarity in the future... cant see em selling many. might be of interest to the bike shed brigade and the like.. save them spending the time ruining a perfectly good bike, its been done at the factory!

  19. First impression was retro Dakar. No one that owns a scrambler hates them and think are good fun.

    It's not bad

  20. Ah an extra washer will straighten it out.

Just needs a top box and good to go
