Just bought a 2009 Sfs with termi full, system, ecu, quick shifter and loads of carbon. just wondered if anyone has changed the handle bars for higher ones to make the riding position more upright?
Hi Oly, a few guys on the US forum have done mate, I think in 2012 (maybe 2011) the 1098 SFS got risers on them to increase the height further than the 09/10 models. I do know a few have fitted renthal fat bars or Rizoma Ma008's, MA005's and 10's to the SFS with great success i believe the MA008 actually raise the bar by about 20mm but may need to check that, if so they put you about where the current SF848 is, the 005's are about the same height as stock bars but the swoop back further I believe so in turn sit you up more. unfortunately I know all this stuff because I owned a SFS for about two weeks but due to a dodgy work outlook and a baby on route I had to sell it straight away. hoping to get another over winter though so I keep my eye on things
Yeah I put the renthal fat bars on mine and it made a huge improvement. You will have to move the throttle cable to outside the headlight bracket because the bars are wider.
Self fitting not an option for me. I can knacker up everything. Bike is bring delivered Monday so will look into it then. Could do with a bit more upright position but I have read this makes the front end twitchy?
