New To Ducati, Looking For A Ducati, Some Questions

Discussion in 'Newbies Hangout' started by Michael Thomas, Apr 22, 2020.

  1. Hello
I am thinking about buying a Ducati bike. I have never ridden one. I am looking at the V2, or the Supersport.

I have a 1st generation R6, its my first bike.

Which bike would be good to get? I will ride it on the street.

Ive heard that the Ducati sportsbikes get hot underneath the tail. Is there any way to keep the heat down? I dont want to roast in the spring and summer time.

  2. Hi, I’ve had 3 R6s including a 1st gen and now have a 17 supersport. Love the R6 but my supersport is an ace bike. Only bought it in December and not done too many miles but loving it. Doesn’t get hot under the tail because the pipes come out of the side

  3. I'd go for the v2 if your coming from an r6. Nothing wrong with a supersport but the riding position will be very different. Stick to what you know.

  4. In my experience, you don’t think about buying a Ducati, it just happens.
Don’t do it, it’ll end up an obsession.

  8. Just checking, are you a michael as in a dude or michael as in michelle? I only ask as your profile says girlie.

Welcome by the way. You're showing as Ohio USA and there appears to be 3 ducati dealers for sales, 2 by columbo and 1 by springfield

  9. Welcome dude

  10. Welcome to the Forum Michael/Michelle:upyeah: As said above, go to your nearest Ducati dealer and get a test ride on a whole load of different models, (assuming you’re allowed to go there and back) and see what feels right for you.

  11. Always keep your pants in the freezer before you set off on that long summers journey.;)

    Didn’t know I’d disagreed.

  20. I'd say the Supersport is a good compromise. With my back any of the really sporty bikes are out but when I say in the Supersport it was almost doable.
