So just for reference the bike has been in bits this winter having the belts done and the clutch case painted. Took it on the first shake down today and I notice i have a new sound. Ruled out the belts as it ticks over and rides perfect. Changing through the gears also sounds fine. The issue is noticeable and not every time that when I pull up at a stop and change to first whilst the clutch is in, I sometimes here a clang, so definitely clutch related.. Any vague ideas? It doesn't sound like a damaging soumd just a clang.. Interested to hear people's thoughts and what I should check.. 1994 916
Mine makes more of a clunk but I suppose you could describe it as a clang, its always done it. I have a carbon half clutch cover (front half behind the fairing is fully open). Do you have the original aluminium cover? Maybe the rubber gasket is worn and the cover is slightly loose?
