Wasnt sure where to put this and tbh its not an exhaustive review...just some ramblings of what ive found....its not 100% in yet as it took me most of the day yesterday and i might move some stuff around...not sure... Ive only got a few pics but ill take some more and add to this, probably... First and foremost its quite a bulky unit - there are more expensive ones which are BlueTooth controlled but more than double the price....you pays your money etc etc.... So the initial downsides.... 1. Bulky as i just said. 2. Not waterproof....i would almost say atall...as the bottom of the board has an exposed circuit board...ive covered mine with a bit of duck tape... capping compound would be a good idea/suggestion... 3. Assumption of placement...just my guess but the manufacturer assumes this is going to go under the seat in the tray (hence the lack of waterproofing)....so, while thats fine...id say the main failing is that (and what say you lot) most of the stuff you want to wire in....is at the front of the bike...so youre going to run loads of extra cable up to the front of the bike... So, to my situation... the hyper (well, my 1100) has no tray and not only that has the worst (ive not seen worse) designed rear end - the main problem being the underseat mudguard - there is none... (had to design my own) to stop or reduce water from being sprayed up on to all the electrics under the seat... luckily all of the above doesnt matter to my personal situation in that the bike only gets used in the dry negating the water issue but now and again it might get caught in the rain.... My unit is mounted on the front, left hand side, behind the side panel....much better placement for a number of obvious reasons...and because of the placement all my stuff (that ive added in) has greatly reduced wiring lengths. Ive added in not in the right order, going from memory... 1. Aux USB on the bars. 2. Heated grips. 3. GPS Tracker 4. Bluetooth Battery monitor. 5. Handguard running leds. 6. Quickshifter. I do have a gear change indicator but all that has is a ground so doesnt need to run through this. Ive got Denali Soundbomb but i couldnt initially get that running as its got its own relay....but i was having some other issues with it so im going to revisit it tomorrow night to see if i can get that wired in also and maybe double up the bluetooth monitor and the GPS as the power draw is miniscule.... All this stuff is based at the front of the bike. Took ages to wire it all in (not because it was hard) but more trying to logically run the cabling so the lengths were short and it looked as OEM as i could get it...that being said the oem wiring is best described as a mess anyway (especially round the throttle bodies and at the back of the tank... All in all happy....ill probably get one for the z1000 as well as i like the ability to get all the wiring in one place and reduce loading the battery terminals up.....definately better. Again ill probably find a place at the front of the bike to mount it... https://www.nippynormans.com/fuse-panels/fuzeblock-switchable-fuse-panel
I have since rotated it so its now vertically mounted as it was touching the sidepanel once it was on...
