Well I had the ignition on and bike running when all of a sudden it cuts out, the dash has gone off completely but front and rear lights have stayed on. Is it a fuse ? if so where or is it more serious.
Check the battery cables for tightness. In particular the earth. Any electrical gremlins and my first change is the coil/injector/pump relay.
I had the battery out earlier and also tidied up the cables under the tail tidy was just doing a bit of house keeping
If you have done something which could be the reason/connected, start there first. Most of my calls to mates for help start with 'I've just...and now...'
LOL Yeah will check battery and leads again tomorrow night but what has me puzzled is lights come on and are just as bright as when bike is running
Got it thanks. its position 4 out of curiosity though my fuel pump isnt engaging either so prob not the dash fuse unless it is linked to the ECU
Well gents I checked my fuses tonight and it would appear that its the one at position 6 according to the book which should be a 5 amp fuse however the one on the bike is a 10 amp at that position, So I have not got a clue, as I cant see the ECU fuse causing my dash not to come on. The only 10 amp fuse is the key on which makes more sense
Extract of page from my manual, It says position 6 is a 5 amp fuse, but on the bike the actual fuse is 10A Which suggests that its the key on fuse which makes sense as it was keyon that did nothing. The cap opens the same way so its possible the fuses are in reverse over, I will check this tomorrow.
Look at the SF 2010 handbook just in case there was a crossover of parts. Ducati are renowned for using the parts bin to build bikes at times. The fuse box is a different order.
