Nurburgring Route Please

  1. Best route to get to the Nurburgring, thinking the motorway to the channel tunnel , but after that I don't fancy motorway ,anybody got any routes they could share It's 515 miles from my door to the ring thinking 3-4 days should be enough

  2. Calais A26 to St Quentin, Guise, Vervins, Montcornet, Rozoy, Liart, Longy-Bongy (yes, really!), Aubingy, Rouvroy, Renwez, Revin, Fumet, Givet, Beaurang, Wellin, Rochfort, Marche en Famenne, La Roche (say 'Hi' to the tank as you go past), Vielsalm (home to THE best Belgian beer -discuss), St Vith, Hergersberg, Blankenhiem, Nurburg. This is doable in a day if you get an early boat and don't mess about. A nice alternative is to approach from the south via Prum and Gerolstein and Kelberg.

  3. Nice 1 cheers ,thinking of going on a Monday off peek channel tunnel ,back on a Thursday ,,and just going to get digs on the way , Sounds like a similar route mcn did about 8years ago

  4. 3-4 days, If your cycling surely using the motorway is not a good idea?

  5. Don't fancy doing it in a day but I'm in no rush to get down and back so thought I would just enjoy the break

  6. Another one for Neil's place, I stayed there a few years ago while doing a Spa two dayer, really friendly couple and boy can Neil ride.

  7. And staying there again in August for another two days at Spa.

  8. Another option is to head for Malmedy for lunch (quick blast on horrid Belgium mways) then cross country (no mways) through the western Eiffel to Adenau (pretty much traffic free and great roads.
