    Thanks

  9. +1 for Polymax

    As it's for the fuel cap, make sure you get a Viton ring.

  10. Doesn't an o ring that comes in contact with fuel have to be made of Nitrile rubber? because ordinary rubber will degrade if left in constant contact.
    I'm pretty sure because I had to get O E Nitrile for the fuel tap on my Honda XR400R

  11. As a generalization for petrol use:

    Rubber = Bad
    Nitrile = Good
    Viton = Better but more expensive

  12. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Viton the stuff which is made mainly of fluorine? And which if overheated decomposes into hydrogen fluoride, which is very nasty stuff indeed?

  13. There is certainly high percentage of fluorine in Viton and it my well degrade into HF (can't say I've seen a reference to this) and of course aqueous HF is particularly aggressive. However nitrile is generally rated to 120°C and Viton to 200°C

    Bare in mind the OP was talking about a filler cap.

    If your worried about about Viton best remove the OEM seals from your bike sharpish :)
