Anybody have one of these on their bike? Has it made a difference? My neighbour swears by them, wondered if it is worth the investment.
I use one on my cafe racer, saved a load of weight and space, and it spins over better than stock ;-) I've had it maybe three years now with no issues, and you can use an optimate charger as well.
I've have them on my SS and SPS. Spins them over a treat especially when you fit uprated battery/starter cables
Bought a PC680 for the SPS and didn't get around to fitting it straight away so it got put on the '94 900SS when the the Yuasa one on that died. Definitely on the Heavy side, it spins over really well, but only lasted about 5 years, I did use an Optimate on it over the winter, maybe that was not the right thing to do. In my limited experience - the service life should be nearer 10 years to give better value for money than an O/E Yuasa YB16ALA2.
Got one on a Guzzi As Mr R states pretty heavy, but very good CCA (starting current), reliable and long lived compared with the Yuasa's of this world IMHO
yeah Optimate should be fine for day to day However if you deeply discharge one they need a higher current passed through them initially until the level of charge reaches a certain percentage.
