OEM Supercorsa SP's Vs Aftermarket Supercorsa SP's

  1. Anyone know if the OEM Pirelli Supercorsa SP's differ from aftermarket versions?

A couple of years ago i was speaking to an old school friend who worked for Bridgestone, about the BT016's on my 2009 GSXR750. He commented that the OEM versions differed from aftermarket versions on a few fronts, namely that they didn't have multi-compound zones and the rubber was a little harder generally, to give a more longetivity, as new owners didn't want to be replacing tyres so quickly after forking out a small fortune for a new bike.....which made some sense i guess.

After replacing them with the aftermarket versions, the difference was very noticeable, in both grip and handling/wear.

Was just wondering if Pirelli did something similar?
