  1. Ok I'm interested in getting a set of ohlins forks for my 2004 ( 2002 model ) 748s , so what my best option and what would I need to look for and what would I expect to pay ... Cheers

  2. AndyB will be along in a minute, to suggest you shod have just bought a 996R to start with ;-)

Seems that vintage are going for stupid money (recent thread) you could try dropping a 1098 S front end in, or didnt some ohlines off RSV Mille fit the yokes?

  3. you need ohlins yokes too………like a 996r…. as the size of the holes are different to the showa..

i have a pair of ohlins 748R yokes….hanging around somewhere…..even got the unique plaque on them still

  4. A 996r would be nice but it's a lot of money : )
Yeah I seen that the vintage ones are going for big money but not sure which would be best to go for , would my front wheel and discs still fit a 1098s front end

  5. Do a search, there are a fair few threads on tjis and some recently. Nelson and others have changed the front end. Whether for showa or ohlins from the later bikes

  6. have a look at what Nelson has fitted to his bike……there are some pictures somewhere on a thread……..im sure with the right combination of bits its possible.1098 front axle and nut to match the forks….might battle with the speedo drive...
